Corsica Scents is now Conscious Beauty Collective Certified
July 23, 2024
We are honored to announce that our products have been Conscious Beauty Collective Certified! We have always prioritized creating clean and sustainable products with a global approach. We are humbled by this prestigious recognition.
What is the Conscious Beauty Collective?
The Conscious Beauty Collective is a group of indie beauty & wellness brands creating retail & co-marketing experiences to help each other grow. The CBC launched in San Francisco in April 2022 and after 3 successful pop-ups, is now in downtown Palm Springs, CA through April 30, 2024.
What is the criteria for the CBC Certification?
- EU compliant formulas - The EU guidelines ban over 1600 cosmetics ingredients and is a globally accepted approach. We don't use any ingredients that are banned in the EU. See list of banned ingredients here.
- Values based organization - This could be environmental, social or community based but needs to be communicated on via website, packaging or promotional materials.
- Vegan OR cruelty free OR Fair Trade minded - Ethical sourcing, fair wages, either certified or manufacturer attestation.
- Sustainably minded - Minimal packaging, sustainable materials, recyclable, refillable, carbon neutral, etc.). Packaging that is made from bio-sourced or recycled materials, or is recyclable or refillable qualifies your brand as does carbon or plastic offsetting. It also takes into account things like product usage (does your formulation require less product or less frequent use), does the organization donate to sustainable causes or partner with any sustainability solutions?
- Indie brand - Independently owned and operated brand, not owned by corporation or parent company.
Why are EU formula guidelines followed?
The EU guidelines ban over 1,600 ingredients and is a more globally accepted approach. For perspective, the US bans only 11 ingredients.
