Discover the Magic of Piemonte, Italy
Charming Villages, Delicious Food, and Travel-Friendly Skincare Tips
If you’ve ever dreamed of exploring Italy’s hidden gems, fall is a great time to visit vineyard areas. Let me introduce you to Piemonte!
A recent family trip to this stunning region was like stepping into a postcard, with charming villages, rolling vineyards, and some of the most incredible flavors I’ve ever tasted.
Charming Villages You’ll Love
The villages of Piemonte feel like they’re from a fairytale. Take Barolo, Barbaresco and Serralunga D’Alba for example - cozy towns known for amazing wines. Walking through their cobblestone streets, we found quaint wine cellars and little cafes. The local culture here is heartwarming, and it’s the most gorgeous place to just slow down and soak it all in. It’s easiest to get a guide to book complimentary tastings at some of the larger vineyards outside of the villages, and they can help ship wine home. There are no Ubers or taxis in Piemonte, so plan ahead with renting a car or driver services
Unique Italian Foods to Savor
If you love authentic Italian food, Piemonte is going to steal your heart (and taste buds!). Known for truffles from Alba, Piemonte’s flavors are unique to this area of Italy, and delicious!. We had the pleasure of trying the local favorites - tajarin pasta, and risotto with truffles paired with local wine—absolute heaven! And dishes like bagna cauda (a warm garlic dip), agnolotti (little pasta parcels), add to the charm of Piemonte’s dining scene.
Vineyard Views That’ll Take Your Breath Away
Piemonte is wine country that borders the French Alps, and its vineyard views are like nothing you’ve ever seen! With rolling hills covered in rows of grapevines, and topped with tiny villages, it’s hard not to stop every few minutes for a photo. Imagine sipping Barbaresco with a view of autumn-colored vineyards and medieval castles in the distance. The peace and beauty of these landscapes are something every traveler should experience at least once.
Travel Essentials to Make the Journey Easier
These villages are small, with few restaurants, so if you’re a larger group, try to book ahead for dining. There are also castle tours available in each of these villages.
Now, as beautiful as travel is, packing smartly makes all the difference. For this trip, I made sure to bring our TSA- friendly solid skincare essentials. I chose to bring our GLOW set, Cedar Orange deodorant, Citrus Verbena Lotion bar and our CBD muscle rub for this trip. This allowed me to stay fresh upon arrival after the long flight to Europe and gave me easy, multi-functional products while exploring.
